Our Inspiration
Anwar's Light was founded in memory of Anwar, a beloved son, brother, and friend, whose life was tragically cut short on August 1, 2020. Anwar’s name, meaning "luminous" or "radiant" in Arabic (أنور), perfectly reflected his spirit. Known for his boundless generosity and commitment to uplifting others, Anwar’s legacy of kindness continues to fuel the heart of our work.

Yet, There Are Over 153 Million Orphans Worldwide, Many Are Deprived Of The Essential Education, Care, And Support They Need To Reach Their Full Potential.

Though we are a young organization, our vision is bold and far-reaching. We are currently focused on establishing our first orphanage in Africa, with plans to expand our model to other regions as we grow. Our goal is to create a network of self-sustaining orphanages that provide not only shelter and care but also a pathway to independence and success for the children we serve.

The Heart Behind Anwar’s Light:
Anwar's Light was founded by Ifrah Mohamed in memory of her beloved brother Anwar, who passed away just before his 30th birthday. Anwar was known for his generosity, kindness, and unwavering commitment to helping others. Inspired by the bond between her own children and driven by a desire to continue Anwar's legacy, Ifrah established Anwar's Light to empower orphaned children with the education and skills they need to succeed.
